Your purchase will be processed in exactly the same way as it would through any other Credit/Debit Card processing facility. The only difference being that at the end of your transaction, PayPal will be asked if you would like them to retain your financial details to speed future transactions.  answer no, and the transaction is complete, answer yes, and you have effectively opened a PayPal account with no further action required.
